Our little town has a huge festival the weekend before school starts. The whole town along with their friends and families swoop down to attend a 2-hour parade on Friday night. On Saturdays, there are oodles of rummage and yard sales. The local Catholic church has the biggest selection and that’s where I found my rummage sale wooden tote to make over.

Here’s what my rummage sale wooden tote looks like after its makeover.

It now wears a coat of light blue paint and pretty stamps.

The green piece of yarn signifies its price of 50 cents. Since we arrived late, everything was half off.

So my little rummage sale wooden tote was a mere 25 cents.

I gave it a single coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Louis Blue.

Then I used a few stamps to add late summer charm.

Two glass vases fit perfectly inside. I filled them with Mums and Gerbera Daisies.

The colors of these beautiful late summer flowers caught my eye. So pretty!

I set my rummage sale wooden tote atop a vintage embroidered table runner.

It’s hard for me to pass up a pretty bouquet.

Right now my garden is in transition and I don’t have a lot of flowers to cut.

So I had to resort to store bought … but they’re still pretty.

I love how this flower mimics the flower stamp on the side of the wooden tote.

I’ll enjoy the flowers of summer as long as I can.

I do love Fall mums in the garden and will soon be adding those to our yard.
