We’ve been getting buckets of rain this past week and it’s great for the garden! Rainwater has many nutrients and is always better for your plants than tap water from the hose. After a recent rain I grabbed my camera and 35 mm lens and ventured outside to capture photos of my perennial flowers in the garden, wet with rain.

Some of the hostas are blooming. I’m still waiting for the one with the lavender flower to bloom.

I wish I remembered which type of hosta it is, but unfortunately I don’t.

I love the drops of rain clinging to the flower buds.

I need a better lens to truly capture the details … I’ll put it on my Christmas list.

Hostas are amazing plants and are great for shady areas.

There are about 50-70 species, but thousands of varieties and cultivars.

Don’t you just love the intricate details of nature?

Just a couple weeks ago the hosta flower was a mere bud.

My clematis is in bloom and dotted with rain drops.

Clematis is one of my favorite perennial flowers. It’s super easy to grow.

This one clambers along the white picket fence in my garden.

This pink clematis grows in the backyard, drinking up the sun.

Such beauty in God’s creation. It never ceases to amaze me!

My yellow loosestrife is healthy and sunny, thanks to all the rain we’ve had.

I chose this yellow flower due to its happy color that it brings to a shade garden.

I’m pretty happy with the way my perennial flowers are looking.

A healthy dose of rain water always works wonders in the garden!
