100-Year-Old WWII Veteran Reunites With Beloved Best Friend After A Month Apart

Spread the love

The last time that 100-year-old World War II veteran Joe Pendrak got to see his furry best friend, Brandy, was a month ago. But that month has felt like an eternity.

Due to COVID-19, nursing homes across the country have banned visitors until things get better, but Pendrak and Brandy’s time apart has finally come to an end.

The two of them were able to reunite at Solaris Healthcare Charlotte Harbor, where Pendrak now lives full-time.

Since moving into the nursing home full-time, Jaclyn Harvell and her husband Leroy have adopted Brandy.

“I’m so happy that we got a chance to bring him over to see Joe because I know Joe misses him tremendously,” Harvell told Wink News. “This is an amazing person. He is a war hero. We are proud to be taking care of his dog for him.”

Although the visitor ban has kept Pendrak and Brandy from being able to physically touch, he was still thrilled to see her through the glass. And once the ban is over, the two of them will be able to hug each other again.
